FO-RI : Scientific Committee Meetings

AgriCord continues to hold regular meetings of its Scientific Advisory Committee, which brings together experts from Africa, South America and Europe to discuss projects implemented under the FO-RI programme. The scientific meetings aim to improve the action research approach for the benefit of farmers. The aim of these meetings is to analyse the results of 2023, provide methodological advice and make recommendations on knowledge capitalisation and management initiatives.


Presentations and exchange of experiences: During the meetings, presentations were made on experiences in Tanzania, Mali and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). These presentations explored the challenges and successes associated with the adoption of agro-ecological practices, giving participants an insight into the effective strategies implemented in these countries. Aimable Twagirayezu, PAFO’s Programme Officer, took an active part in these meetings. In his various speeches, he emphasised the importance of international cooperation in strengthening the capacities of farmers’ organisations and the resilience of farmers in the face of
farmers’ resilience in the face of environmental challenges.

AgriCord promotes the exchange of knowledge between different regions and helps to create a solid network of farmers’ organisations. This makes it possible to share sustainable practices and build local capacity to meet today’s agricultural challenges. AgriCord’s Scientific Advisory Committee meeting was a success, demonstrating the organisation’s commitment to sustainable development and agroecological practices. The event paved the way for new collaborations and an exchange of ideas that will benefit farmers and rural communities around the world.
