
“In a gesture full of symbolism and promise, Mrs Katja Vuori, recently appointed CEO of Agricord, made her first official visit to the PAFO headquarters. The visit was marked by a warm and fruitful exchange that underlined the importance of the existing relationship between the two organisations, while opening new doors for enhanced cooperation. Mrs Vuori’s visit is particularly significant as it underlines the strong commitment of PAFO and Agricord to work together to address the challenges faced by African farmers’ organisations and farmers.
At a time when agricultural issues are more crucial than ever for the development of the continent, this meeting is a testimony to the shared desire to foster a lasting partnership and develop innovative solutions to support the growth of African agriculture. Through enriching exchanges and strategic discussions, PAFO and Agricord representatives explored various avenues of collaboration and proposed joint initiatives aimed at strengthening farmers’ capacities, promoting agricultural innovation and fostering an environment conducive to sustainable agricultural development.

Katja Vuori has worked in numerous functions, including as a consultant in rural development, access to justice, human rights and education. Her experience ranges from fundraising and donor relations, project development and management as well as communications and outreach.
