The Pan-African Farmers’ Organization (PAFO) is seeking a qualified and motivated Accountant to join its Secretariat team in Kigali, Rwanda.
As a continental platform representing over 80 million African farmers through its five regional networks, PAFO is committed to transparency, accountability, and the efficient use of resources in advancing inclusive and resilient food systems across the continent.
About the Role
The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate and timely financial records, supporting internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with donor and organizational policies, and assisting in budgeting and financial reporting.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, experienced in working with international organizations or donor-funded projects, and ready to contribute to PAFO’s mission of strengthening African family farming.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Managing accounting records and systems
- Preparing financial reports and donor reporting
- Monitoring budgets and expenditures
- Supporting audits and internal controls
- Processing payments and managing payroll
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- At least 3 years of relevant professional experience
- Knowledge of accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
- CPA or ACCA certification (asset)
- Fluency in English or French (knowledge of both is a strong advantage)
