The COLEACP and the PAFO agreed to join their resources and experience through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the modernization of agricultural value chains in Africa to promote sustainable and inclusive growth, poverty alleviation, food security, food safety, and nutrition. With the outbreak of the COVID-19, both parties agreed to examine the challenges of COVID-19 and provide urgent and sustainable responses to the impacts of the pandemic on African agriculture, family farmers, and operators of the whole value chains.
Under the COLEACP program, PAFO is in process of developing its 2021-2025 strategic plan and 2021-2022 action plan. Besides, a series of training was launched on various topics around the modernization of African Agriculture and the COVID-19.
Other activities planned include the learning sessions and regional briefings from which, it is expected to bring farmers with different background together to learn from each other through the exchange of experiences.
